This trail begins behind the Torres refuge. The trails continue along an open and clear área, behind it is Mount Almirante Nieto. After an hour, 30 minutes approx you will cross a slope facing laguna Azul, with a broad view towards the valley of Paine river. The trails continues bordering Paine Mount.

Leaving Serón Campsite, the trail begins gently, with marguerite daisies and ñirre trees lining the first 200 meters. Upon reaching 400 meters of elevation, the path turns west, revealing a breathtaking panorama of Lake Paine. From this point, the scenery transforms: rugged mountains rise sharply, crowned with jagged peaks, snowfields, and glaciers. Ahead, the route to Coirón and Dickson lies clearly in view, stretching into the distance.

Highlight: A unique opportunity to witness both faces of the Patagonian landscape—behind you, the vast pampas and open flatlands; before you, the dramatic mountains and glaciers.

The trail leads into a young lenga forest—dense and lush, especially on rainy days. About 25 minutes into the hike, a glance behind reveals stunning views of Lake Dickson and its glacier. Before fully entering the forest, you’ll come across an open area with a remarkable viewpoint: from a small hill, you can admire the convergence of mountains and valleys, signaling a shift in the landscape from the previous days. Perros Campsite sits nestled in the heart of an open lenga woodland, offering a quiet and sheltered resting spot.

Highlight: A serene walk through native lenga forest, with a scenic viewpoint near the lagoon fed by Perros Glacier.

From Perros Campsite, rejoin the circuit trail, cross the river via a footbridge, and turn left toward “El Paso.” The ascent begins through marshy, muddy terrain—challenging to walk on—lasting about one hour. Along the way, occasional clearings offer striking views: below lies the Los Perros area, and above, the route to El Paso.

After about 1.5 hours, at 760 meters of elevation, you’ll approach the Paso River. Follow the trail markers carefully to cross at the narrowest point—do not attempt to cross elsewhere. On the opposite bank, the ascent continues, now over rocky ground and exposed to strong winds. Depending on the season and recent precipitation, you may encounter snow patches, transforming the surroundings into a harsher alpine landscape.

At 1,200 meters, the climb ends at John Garner Pass, reached about 1.5 hours after crossing the river. This pass marks the crossing of the Paine mountain range to the western side. From here, the descent takes around 3 hours to reach El Paso Campsite.

Leaving El Paso, a steady ascent leads to a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the vast expanse of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field and the massive Grey Glacier. The trail then continues with frequent ups and downs, passing through forested areas. About 3–4 hours after El Paso Campsite, you’ll reach Los Guardas Campsite. The route then veers away from the glacier, entering dense woodland before emerging onto the path that leads directly to Grey Refuge.

Highlight: An awe-inspiring vantage point over the Southern Patagonian Ice Field and the sweeping tongue of Grey Glacier—one of the most spectacular views in Torres del Paine National Park.

The trail that continues from Grey lodge towards Pehoe lake goes along flat terrain in southeasterly direction , it is a gentle walk. There is a short ascent after wich you continue along the same height until reaching the bridge over the river Olguin, wich descends with a great force along a rock gorge.

After 2 hours walking, you will begin to descend gently towards the sector named Quebrada de los Vientos,( windy valley).

A bit further your pass near a small lagoon, you will continue descending and will see Pehoe lake at the bottom.

Paine Grande lodge is located near of the Pehoe lake, this place is usually very exposed to wind.

From Paine Grande Lodge, follow the well-marked trail along the northern shore of Lake Pehoé, with impressive views of the Cuernos del Paine. After approximately 40 minutes, the path runs alongside Lake Skottsberg, leading to a dense forest of lenga and Magellanic coigüe trees.

Before reaching Italiano Campsite (220 m a.s.l.), you’ll cross the powerful Francés River via two suspension bridges. From here, the route continues north into one of the park’s most breathtaking areas. The trail follows the eastern bank of the Francés River, leaving the forest behind and ascending gradually over rocky terrain.

At 680 meters of elevation, you’ll reach a magnificent viewpoint over the entire valley. To the east, the striking Cuernos del Paine dominate the skyline, alongside Mount Hoja (2,200 m), Mount Espada (2,500 m), Mount Máscara (2,300 m), and Mount Fortaleza (2,681 m). Far to the south, the lakes Nordenskjöld, Pehoé, and Toro shimmer in the distance. This is an ideal spot to pause and capture the beauty of the surroundings.

After enjoying the viewpoint, return to Italiano Campsite via the same trail. From there, the route descends southeast, skirting the base of the Cuernos del Paine along the northern shore of Lake Nordenskjöld. After roughly 30 minutes, you’ll arrive at Francés Dome.

Highlight: One of the most spectacular panoramas in Torres del Paine, where towering peaks and sheer rock walls remain as the dramatic remnants of an ancient glacial cirque.

From Francés Dome, the trail follows the shoreline for about an hour until reaching Cuernos Refuge and Campsite, located directly at the base of the majestic Cuernos del Paine. The route then moves away from the lake, skirting the base of Mount Almirante Nieto, and leads to a small lagoon on the right, near a wetland area. From here, the path begins a steady descent toward the Torres sector.

Further along, you’ll cross the Ascencio River via a suspension bridge, before arriving at the area where Hotel Las Torres and the Torres refuges are located.

Highlight: A scenic walk beneath the imposing Cuernos del Paine, with changing landscapes from lake shores to mountain foothills.

From Hotel Las Torres, the trail heads into the Ascencio River Valley. After about 10 minutes walking west, you’ll cross a suspension bridge over the river. Roughly 150 meters later, take the ascending path to the right—continuing straight here would lead toward Los Cuernos.

The first section is a mix of gentle rises and short descents, climbing gradually to 400 meters and demanding a fair amount of effort. The stony trail then zigzags upward toward the northern end of the valley. After about 1 hour, the views open up over the valley, and you’ll spot Chileno Refuge and Campsite in the distance.

After approximately 4.5 hours of hiking, you’ll reach the base of Torres del Paine. Here, a glacial lagoon lies at the foot of three colossal granite towers, each soaring nearly 1,000 meters above. This is the perfect place to rest, admire the scene, and take in the full majesty of the peaks: Torre Norte (Torre Monzino, 2,600 m), Torre Central (2,800 m), and Torre Sur (Torre Agostini, 2,850 m).
