What is Torres del Paine?
Torres del Paine is a national park known for its incredible beauty. It was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994. The park was shaped over time by massive glaciers that carved out valleys and towering mountains. Its beauty is so vast that it feels like stepping into a different world. The park is huge, and the landscapes are so unique that it’s hard to put into words. The iconic Torres (Towers) of Paine are just one of the many amazing sights you’ll encounter.
Peak Season in Torres del Paine
The peak season in Torres del Paine occurs during the summer months of December, January, and February, when the W Trek trail tends to be crowded. If you're looking for a quieter experience, October, November, March, and April are generally considered the best months to hike the W Trek. Of these, April stands out as an ideal time to visit, as it offers fewer crowds and calmer winds.
What’s the process for booking lodging on the W Trek?
The W Trek offers a variety of accommodation options, including serviced campsites, refugios, and even private cabins at Cuernos, all of which can be booked through us. For those preferring more comfort, you can stay in hotels at either end of the trek: near the Las Torres trailhead on the eastern side and at Grey on the western end. Additionally, we can create a custom itinerary based in Puerto Natales, where you’ll have daily excursions into Torres del Paine to access different trailheads. Alternatively, if you're seeking a more luxurious experience, we can arrange stays at luxury lodges, allowing you to hike the W Trek or portions of it from the comfort of these high-end accommodations.
How Can You Access Torres del Paine National Park?
The Laguna Amarga Entrance is located in the eastern part of Torres del Paine National Park and serves as an important checkpoint for visitors entering from the Y-150 route. It is mainly used to access the W Trek, O Circuit, and the Base Torres Viewpoint. The Río Serrano Entrance, situated in the western sector near the Serrano River, provides access to the southern part of the park, including the Administración Area, Grey Lake, and Pehoé Lake. Finally, the Lago Sarmiento Entrance, located in the northern part of the park, is used for trekking between the Sarmiento and Laguna Amarga entrances, offering an alternative route for exploring this less crowded section of Torres del Paine.

What exactly are “the Towers” in Torres del Paine?
The impressive peaks known as the Torres del Paine are made up of three main summits: Torre D’Agostini in the south, standing at 2,850 meters; Torre Central, at 2,800 meters; and Torre Monzino in the north, reaching 2,600 meters. These striking granite formations rise dramatically within Torres del Paine National Park, located in the Magallanes region of southern Chile. To the east of the Towers lies the Ascencio Valley, through which runs one of the most popular sections of the W Trek, leading directly to these iconic mountains.

What are the Cuernos del Paine?
The Cuernos del Paine consist of three main peaks: Cuerno Principal (2,600 meters), Cuerno Norte (2,400 meters), and Cuerno Este (2,200 meters). These distinctive granite peaks are some of the most recognizable landmarks in Torres del Paine National Park. To the west of the Cuernos lies the Valle del Francés, one of the park's most celebrated features. This high-altitude valley is surrounded by nearly vertical cliffs of rock, creating a dramatic and awe-inspiring landscape.
